What is the maximum distance between battens on Fixed Walkways?

The battens on KATT fixed walkways must not exceed 700mm centre to centre.
How do I know whether to use walkway, ladders, steps or stairs for access and fall protection?

The below diagram shows the type of access system required depending on gradient.
